Growth, continuity, and the cyclical nature of experiential learning.
This project was a real-world commission from Northwestern Michigan College's Experiential Learning Institute. While still a student, I was asked by the department's co-directors to redesign the program's logo. The ELI prepares learners for an ever-changing world through relevant, ongoing experience, critical problem solving, and reflective practices. The redesigned mark uses an interlocking circular form in deep green to suggest continuity, renewal, and the cyclical nature of experiential learning. The bold, structured typography grounds the abstract mark with clarity and institutional confidence. Learners who engage in experiential learning are more likely to persist through college, graduate, and become lifelong self-directed learners — and this logo reflects that forward-moving, growth-oriented identity.
