Athletic heritage meets a sense of place — designed to read at distance.
This logo was designed for Painted Turtle Rowing Camps, a youth rowing program connected to the Lake Leelanau Rowing Club. The mark uses a traditional shield crest format to convey athletic heritage and team identity. At the center, a painted turtle rendered in bold black and red sits beneath crossed oars, nodding to both the sport and the local painted turtle species native to the Great Lakes region. The wordmark "PAINTED TURTLE" arches above the crest while "ROWING CAMPS" anchors the base in wide-tracked capital letters. The design was applied to yard signage mockups in two variants — one standard and one with a directional arrow — demonstrating real-world flexibility across event and wayfinding applications.
